WNL =[ , =]. or =/

WNL is officially over (bear in mind, however, that SML [Saturday Morning Live] is not). I was all pumped up today, excited, and ready to go. Then the nerves kicked in. Testimony. Skits. People.
But I didn't let myself think about that. At least, not till I got there. Anyways, I walked into the youth building and everyone was amazing. The Powerless team (lol that was hilarious) was all pumped up and ready to break some (fake) bricks, the hosts were reciting lines, the Jonas Sisters were doing these weird rituals that I think came from High School Musical (ugh) and the testimony-givers were going through every detail.
We started at 7. The turnout was a little less that I had hoped, but we still had new people, so it was all good. We started the skits, and I could hear everyone cracking up from the garage area I was waiting in. So far, so good.
My skits went well. I think everyone enjoyed them. I didn't do as well as I would have liked, but I suppose I did decent. The hosts had their lines down perfectly, the Powerless team was completely pumped and just downright awesome, and the audience loved it.
The testimonies started out well. The two before me were great, as was the person after me. Before going up I had been told that a few people had been praying for my nerves all day long. That was extremely reassuring to me.
So I go up, and I just start talking. At first I'm like hey, my voice sounds normal. Hmm. So I keep on going, but then... well, you know how Peter looked away from Jesus when he was out on the water and fell? That was me. I got too cocky or dumb or ungrateful or whatever you want to call it, and my voice started cracking, stuttering, slipping... ugh. And what stinks is it was my own fault. I forgot the entire reason I was up there. Stupid. So needless to say I am not happy with myself right now.
All in all, though, the night went well. I left the building confused and disappointed, but then Summer got a text from one of her friends asking how she could join the youth group (it may be just because she thought a certain guy was cute, I won't say who, but hey you've got to start somewhere). So yes, God was (and is) definitely in this.
Now let's see how Sunday goes...

Hey mate, it could've gone a lot worse, so don't worry about your fumble. It's no biggie.

Autumn, God planed this night for specific reasons. He knew what was going to happen before you even started. Do not feel bad. You did a wonderful job.
