Passion

One of my passions is writing. Obviously. I have novels saved on Microsoft works. I read constantly. I have writing-helps emailed to me weakly. I write when I "should" be listening to my math teacher. I spend hours upon hours writing everything and anything: novels, novellas, short stories, essays, skits, etc. And I love every minute of it.

Okay, well not every minute. Plenty of steps in writing are less than enjoyable. Brainstorming is always fun for me, but writer's block is an issue. Having to expand my vocabulary isn't really entertaining either. Grammar bores me to death. And practice query letters aren't a breeze. Getting your book's summary down to about ten pages isn't easy either.

I, no matter what, always enjoy putting my thoughts and ideas on paper. Sure, some dull steps are present, but they always lead to a funner one. Sometimes I have to work or study hard, but it's always worth it. It's not always fun or easy, but the finished product--and the "high" I get while doing it--is great.

God should be one of our passions, right? I mean, that kind of goes without saying. We've heard it before. But simply enjoying and delighting in our beliefs isn't enough to call it a passion. Hard work is a part of that. So is a lot of "given-up" time. There are even some things that we have to do, but don't want to because they're "boring" or difficult. But it's all part of the passion, and the end result is more than worth it.
