The Fine Arts Festival was amazing. God really blessed us and helped us take on a ton of new and/or improved entries.
In case you don't know, there are 3 levels in grading the entries: Excellent, Superior, and Superior with Invitation. You need to invitation to go to nationals (which are in Orlando, Florida).
This year a bunch of guys thought it would be great to start a percussion team, unconventional, with only one or two of them having any experience. We all figured at the beginning it was all just for fun and laughs (they dressed up like cowboys; I'm not gonna go there) but after a few weeks they showed some real potential. And guess what? They made nationals! And not only that, but they got the Merit! OK, if you don't know, the merit is awarded to the team/person in each entry who did the best in the entire event. It was so funny to see them perform in front of the entire audience!
Then the sign language group made the judges cry; no joke. They did sooo great, and they're going to nationals. So is the puppet team. My book chapter made Merit too. I am so proud of everyone; they all put so much effort into it all.
