Hmm okay so the question is how do I think we could improve the quality of the jr. high service. Well, okay, I have to admit that I haven't thought much on this, but I might as well answer the question.
We already have a great worship team (which is the same size as the rest of the attendees) and they are already doing a wonderful job. Pastor Marc brings up some really interesting "mini-preaches", as I like to call them. So I don't think there's any problem there.
What we don't have is that passion that we so evidently feel in Youth. One observation I've made is this:
When I first came into the youthgroup, you would walk in and there would be fiveor six cirles, always containing the same members. It was almost like everyone was in a cliche. Of course, we got beyond that and now just about everybody hangs with everyone else.
Once this change occured, our spirituallity was effected. I definetely think that there is a relationship here. We all spiritually matured (some more than others, but that's not important right now) once we were all on the same page.
So I think the first step to spiritual maturity for the jr. higher's service is for us to all get on the first page. How do we do that? Well, there's a coupel of ways.
1) Right now, the older kids hang w/ the older kids, and the younger w/ the younger kids. Hey, I'm not condeming anyone; I do the same thing. But what if we just all became close? From 6th to 9th grade. What if we become comfortable w/ each other?
2) Step outside the box. If we're all comfortable w/ one another, maybe someone will be willing to raise their hand during worship, or pray boldly aloud. It only takes one voice to make a difference.
3) Simply pray! We spend so much time praying for the YouthGroup (which is Awsome) but how many of is truly and sincerely pray for the jr. higher's? I know I haven't. God needs to be involved here.
4) This is just an idea that literally JUST popped into my head, but what if we did an activity together? You know, it doesn't have to be as big as WNL or anything, but maybe us students [or is it we???] could organize something that would bring us closer together, and (I'm totally going to sound like a boring teacher right now) use some teamwork.
These are just some random ideas. I don't know, maybe none of them will work. It's just my loose opinion. But I know that we are better than when we started, and there's more in store.
Thanx 4 the question! =] Does that answer it?
